The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is the lead advocate for business issues in southeastern North Carolina. We work to create a business-friendly environment in our community, representing the interest of business on a local, state, and federal level.
Our chamber monitors legislation and works closely with Wilmington City Council, New Hanover County Board of Commissioners, New Hanover County School Board, North Carolina General Assembly and congressional leaders in Washington D.C. to ensure that interests of the business community are well-represented in public policy decisions.
The Wilmington Chamber provides a form for significant, relevant community discussions and policies impacting the business community. Members are provided opportunities to meet with elected officials through public policy forums, legislative receptions, and visits. We work to stay one step ahead of issues facing the business community.
The Public Policy Committee helps to shape and guide the Wilmington Chamber’s legislative agenda. The committee is a volunteer group of diverse Chamber members with interests and experience in public policy, economic and workforce development, the economy, and/or elections at the local, regional, state, and federal level. Public Policy Committee meetings are open to all members of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.
