  • Mara McJilton served as a Reporter and Weekend Anchor for WECT for three years, where she honed her skills in journalism and storytelling. She graduated in 2021 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a BS in Agricultural Communications, focusing on Journalism & Electronic Media.

    Mara brings creativity and storytelling expertise to effectively share meaningful information with our members and the community, capturing the significant work the Wilmington Chamber is doing and its lasting impact.

    Mara brings a versatile and dynamic skillset in writing, photography, and video production to our team, making her an invaluable asset. She is instrumental in producing our weekly newsletters, promoting Chamber events, and highlighting new members on social media, significantly enhancing visibility for businesses and organizations. With her expertise in filming and video editing, Mara creates captivating content for members' ribbon-cutting ceremonies, ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve on our social media platforms.

    Mara loves spending time outdoors, whether on the water, at the beach, or on the golf course. She is also dedicated to raising awareness about Type 1 Diabetes and advocating for a cure as a board member for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).
