Public Policy Meeting
The Wilmington Chamber's Public Policy Committee monitors and advises the Chamber on legislative and regulatory issues at the local, state, and federal levels and promotes the interests of our membership.
Our next Public Policy meeting on Tuesday, October 25, from 8:00 – 9:15 am at the chamber office downtown or via Zoom.
Housing affordability is important to ensure the businesses in our community have access to the workforce they need. It is critical that our local governments partner with the private and not-for-profit sectors to address the need for workforce housing in our community. One of the goals of the New Hanover County Strategic Plan for 2018-2023 is to encourage the development of complete communities in the unincorporated county by increasing housing diversity in size and price points and access to basic goods and services. New Hanover County is implementing initiatives, and funding, as they lead the response to this community need.
On October 25, key representatives from New Hanover County will be sharing an update on Workforce Housing initiatives underway, including an update on the recent round of funding for the Workforce Housing Services Program.
