Encounter Wilmington Day 1
Encounter Wilmington is an orientation to Wilmington and to community leadership. This program is open to newcomers to the area and those who simply want to get connected to the community in which they live, work, and play. Participants learn firsthand from a wide range of community leaders about what makes Wilmington the special place it is. Participants will come away with new relationships, a greater knowledge of our local community, and specific ways they can make a difference in our community.
Participants will be introduced to key leaders in the following areas: Arts, History, and Culture; Environment; Criminal Justice; Health and Human Services; Transportation and Infrastructure; Education, Talent, and Workforce Development; Business Growth and Development; and Community Engagement.
The program occurs in April and October each year. Applications are accepted until February 28 for the April program and August 31 for the October program.
