The vision of the African American Business Council is to strategically position black businesses for inclusion and success through opportunity, education, exposure, entrepreneurship, economic development, and public policy advocacy. We are committed to leading, educating, and advocating to grow African American-owned businesses and to create and grow a thriving African American middle class in Wilmington.

Join Lynne Jones of LJ Design Studio as she helps you develop a strategy for yourself to get a grip on the three things you need to have in place as you set the new year ablaze towards making your mark in 2024!SPEAKER
Lynne Jones, the visionary owner and designer of LJ Design Studio, a creative force that weaves narratives through interior design and branding. Since commencing her design journey in 2011, Lynne has cultivated a reputation for infusing intricate details, innovative concepts, and bespoke designs into various projects, ranging from residential & commercial interiors to weddings and large-scale events.
Lynne's passion lies in helping businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals articulate their unique stories through the art of branded design. Armed with a degree in Public & Nonprofit Administration from UNC Pembroke and a background in managerial and administrative skills, Lynne's ability to tell compelling narratives through design sets her apart in the industry.
Beyond her design prowess, Lynne is a dedicated community leader. She served on the Board of Directors for Voyage and held the position of Vice President for YWCA Lower Cape Fear, serving for two terms. Currently, she actively contributes to the committee for Young Life Cape Fear and participates in various outreach endeavors, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
Lynne's portfolio includes an array of remarkable projects, such as Channel Powered By Live Oak Bank (2022), On Thyme Restaurant (2022), The Fete: Wilmington’s Exclusive Secret Dinner (2017-2018), Pretty in Pink Foundation's Pretty In Pink Fashion Walk & Gala (2015-2016), GreenLine Pizza & Steak (2016), Naturally Fly Wilmington's Natural Hair Expo (2015), and Med-North Health Center's Hope for Health Gala (2015). Lynne also served as the host planner for Operation Marry Me Military in New Hanover County (2013-2014) and numerous other interior and branding projects.
All Chamber members AND non-members are welcome to attend the meeting, but registration is required!
