The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected First Vice-Chair John Elliott (Duke Energy) to be chairman of the board for 2019. Elliott will succeed 2018 Chairman John Gizdic (NHRMC), who will continue to serve as immediate past chairman.
Elliott is a 21-year veteran of the electric utility business, serving as Director of Government and Community Relations at Duke Energy. In his current role, he is responsible for governmental and community relation activities in 43 counties that comprise Duke Energy’s east region in North Carolina. Prior to joining Duke Energy, Elliott spent more than 9 years leading municipal and regional governmental organizations in South Carolina as a city manager and regional economic development director.
Elliott will be joined on the Wilmington Chamber leadership team by First Vice-Chair Tee Nunnelee (Coastal Beverage Co., Inc.), 2nd Vice Chair Michele Holbrook (Corning Incorporated), Treasurer Neal Andrew (Andrew Consulting Engineers), Stephanie Lanier (Lanier Property Group) and Charlie Mattox (BB&T). New members of the Wilmington Chamber board of directors for 2019 include Lisa Leath (Leath HR Group), Tracey Jackson (u-nex-o), Ned Glascock (PPD), Richard Broadway (Rodgers), Laura Blair (NC Ports), and Lance Davis (National Gypsum).
