For every month in 2013, Wilmington posted positive employment growth, according to a report released yesterday from consulting firm Garner Economics LLC. The overall increase was moderate–an average of 1.9% for the year–but was welcome news. The national average was 1.7%.
294 U.S. metros, or 79 percent of the total, added jobs in 2013. In NC, Asheville posted the strongest rate at 2.9%, followed by Charlotte at 2.7%.
