More than 100 area businesses will be recognized for their exemplary 2012 safety records at the Safety Awards Banquet to be held at the McKeithan Center on the North Campus of Cape Fear Community College on Monday, June 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Presented by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and the NC Department of Labor, the 38th Annual Safety Awards Banquet will feature Labor Commissioner Cherie K. Berry as the guest speaker and presenter.
Prestigious Million-Hour Awards, given for 1 million hours of work with no lost time accidents, will be presented to Global Nuclear Fuel-Americas Fuel Component Operation and Louisiana Pacific Engineering Wood Products. Global Nuclear Fuel- Americas Fuel Manufacturing Operation will receive a Two Million-Hour Award and GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Engineering and Support Services will receive a Six Million-Hour Award.
